3301 TRICONEX Controller Card Each TMR digital input module has three separate sets of electronics, called channels, that independently process the module’s field data. Each channel places the processed data in an array and transfers that array to the MP associated with that channel upon request. MPs votes on the data before passing it to the application. The DI module includes complete, continuous diagnostics for each channel. If the diagnostic detects a fault on any channel, the fault indicator lights up and activates the system alert. The fault indicator identifies the channel fault, not the entire module fault. The D module continuously validates the system’s ability to detect transitions to the opposite state. The D| module is guaranteed to function in the event of a single failure and to continue to function in the event of multiple failures. The D module supports the hot standby module. Each DI module is mechanically locked to prevent improper installation in the configured substrate. The Model 3301 D| module is available on the following substrates: Model 2301 for curved applications. D1 External terminal substrate for solid-state input external terminal panels in Gauller applications, or Type 9573-610 DI hazardous site external terminal panels

When Tricon is up and running, routine maintenance can be performed without interrupting the control process.
