To achieve compatibility with A range of different inputs and sensor types, the circuit required to control the sensor is mounted on a separate plug-in sensor driver module. These modules plug directly into the channel control card and are installed at the factory. There are two different modules, one for catalytic input and one for 4-20mA input.

Each single-channel control card works independently and contains all the necessary electronic circuits to provide sensor drive, alarm detection and gas level display for gas detection of that channel.
Field interface/relay cards provide interface connections between the control card and the respective field connection gas sensors. In addition, the relay card provides alarm output to the field connection.

The 05701-A-0511 series control System is part of the System 57 series and is designed to monitor industrial gas detectors installed in the field. The main features of the system are:
Up to 16 channels of gas detection in a standard 19-inch sub
The rack adopts 3U card format.
Up to 8 gas detection channels in a half 19 inch sub
The rack adopts 3U card format.
Racks can be used for front and rear access to field wiring.
Simple field connection wires up to 2.5mm2.
Single-channel operation mode for high integrity systems.
The channel control card is removable and does not interfere with other lines.
Catalytic bridge or 4-20mA input.

Optional alarm conversion relay output.
Multiple alarm modes for primary, partition and voting alarms.
Rise, fall, STEL and LTEL/RATE alarm outputs.
Update single or multi-channel alarms.
Remotely suppress and reset inputs.
The time delay in switching on and/or switching off of the relay output.
Optional 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA isolation monitor output.
Easy calibration and operation with dedicated engineering cards.
EMC compatibility.
