3300 XL 8mm proximity sensor system includes:
A 3300 XL 8mm probe,
A 3300 XL extension cord 1, and
A 3300 XL Proximitor* sensor 2.
The system provides an output voltage that is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, allowing both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values to be measured. The main applications of the system are vibration and position measurement of fluid film bearing machines, as well as critical phasor * reference and velocity measurement3.
The 3300 XL 8mm system offers state-of-the-art performance in our vortex proximity sensor system. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5 meter system is also fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard (4th edition) in terms of mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8mm proximity sensor systems deliver this level of performance and support full interchangeability of probe, extension cable and Proximitor sensors without the need to match or bench calibrate individual components. Each 3300 XL 8mm sensor system component is backward compatible and interchangeable 4 with other non-XL 3300 series 5mm and 8mm sensor system components 5. This compatibility includes 3300 5 mm probes for 8 mm probes in applications where the available mounting space is too large 6,7.
Proximitor sensor
The 3300 XL Proximitor sensor features a number of improvements over previous designs. Its physical packaging allows you to use it in high-density DINrail installations. You can also mount the sensor in a traditional panel mount configuration, where it shares the same 4-hole mount “footprint” as the older Proximitor sensor design. Either option of mounting the base provides electrical isolation, eliminating the need for separate isolation panels. The 3300 XL Proximitor sensor is highly immune to RF interference and can be installed in a fiberglass housing without adversely affecting nearby RF signals. The improved RFI/EMI immunity of the 3300 XL Proximitor sensor meets the European CE Mark and eliminates the need for special shielded ducts or metal housings, reducing installation costs and complexity. The 3300 XL’s SpringLoc terminal strip does not require special mounting tools, and by eliminating screw types, allows for faster, more robust field wiring connections to loosen clamping mechanisms.
