The National Instruments SCXI-1102 series 32-channel amplifier modules are designed for high-precision thermocouple measurements. They share a common architecture where each input channel includes an instrumentation amplifier and a 2 Hz low-pass filter. With this architecture, you can scan the NI SCXI-1102 analog input channels as well as those of other modules at rates up to 333 kS/s (3 μs per channel). You can also scan for cold-end compensation sensors and other input channels. The SCXI-1102 can also collect millivolt, volt, 0 to 20 mA, and 4 to 20 mA current input signals. Each module can multiplex its channels into a single DAQ device channel, and you can add modules to increase the number of channels.

The NI SCXI-1125 includes calibration hardware that invalidates error sources. With programmable offset calibration, a software-programmable analog switch ground the input to each meter enhancer for offset error calibration. The locally available EEPROM stores the calibration constant for each channel of each input extension in the client signature area. The EEPROM also stores the arrangement of the factory calibration constant in permanent memory, which cannot be changed. The NI-DAQ driver software can verify the gain and offset error directly using the calibration constants. The device has an output range of ± 5.0V and weighs 22.6 ounces. It measures 7.4 x 6.8 x 1.2 inches.

In this model, each channel contains an automatic low-pass filter that the user can configure to either 4 Hz or 10 kHz. With SCXI-1125, users can perform irregular scans, which means they can select only the channels from which they need to pick information, and then scan the channels in any order. Each channel is independently limited to an operating common-mode voltage of 300 Vrms between channels or between channels to ground. In addition, the SCXI-1125 is CE certified with dual insulation Class II operating isolation.

NI-DAQmx 9.0 (or later) driver software is required to configure and program SCXI-1125. In addition, the device is compatible with any of the following application development environments (ades) : LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio. Device software can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer tool.
