The National Instruments PXI-7342/7344 series stepper/servo controller card is recommended for both simple and complex motion applications. It includes dual processors, a real-time onboard operating system, and multi-axis interpolation. The PXI-7342/7344 provides hybrid motion trajectory control and fully coordinated circular, linear, point-to-point, gear and vector space control in embedded motion operations or host-centric programming environments.
NI provides profile design capabilities for more complex movements. The onboard CPU uses an embedded real-time operating system with event-driven multitasking control. In this way, multiple motion control programs and processes can run simultaneously on the controller independently of the host PC and without external program interaction unless the host program or user is configured to start it.
The NI PXI-7340 motion controller utilizes DSP for all closed-loop control, including position tracking, PID closed-loop control calculation and motion trajectory generation.
